-- Halloween party

I dressed up as a fortune teller but forgot one of my planned props -- a magic 8 ball. We had a blast anyway:
Me getting ready. I just put on the black wig.

Dan assembled his costume at the party (you'll see it soon) since he'd spent most of the day building THIS, a dead baby punchbowl, complete with working guillotine:

Punchbowl baby. First choice was Barney or Elmo but we couldn't find plastic versions.

And the haunting begins!

Then came the foretelling.

I read a few palms using leftover tidbits from memory (while channeling my inner 12-year old).

No party is complete without the white trash component.
This costume is great -- it's essentially free and even has an ecological-awareness spin: how much garbage our household generated in two weeks. One element of FAIL though... someone commented that you could see through the paint, noting that our free-range eggs and organic whole grain flax cereal wouldn't fool anyone.

Hey buddy, hide here for a while, they won't find you.

We filled rubber gloves with water and froze them...

For awesome punchbowl ice!

Who said monks don't drink?

Sharkboy looks awfully happy for being half-eaten.

Me and my beloved heap.

It was a fantastic night!

So anyway, we noticed the night before the party that trick-or-treaters rejected all the 3 Musketeers and dove greedily instead for the Reese's. Did you get trick-or-treaters? If so, what candy did they covet?

That looks so fun! I can't wait until the kids are older and I can throw an appropriately ghoulish party.

I am envious. And you are totally gypsy-fortune-teller-ish!

The baby punch bowl nearly killed me with laughter, by the way. :)
