New Apartment Checklist

Moving? Here's an apartment checklist to compare various places against each other. Feel free to alter depending on your needs (for example, my "safe neighborhood" requirement basically evaluates the likelihood of getting stabbed on the way to the house from the car). Good luck in your apartment search!

Apartment Name
Price
Square Feet
Utilities Included?
Parking space?
Room for bicycle?
Pet fees?
Laundry?
A/C?
Commute acceptable?
Good insulation between apartments?
Sunny (Southwest exposure)?
Near train/firehouse
(noise level)?
Convenient to stores
Safe neighborhood?
Misc (enough outlets, modernized, etc.)

This checklist is a big help for people who are looking for a new apartment. Actually, even for those who want to buy residential property. You have to carefully consider these factors so that there will be no regrets in the future.

That’s an excellent checklist! However, I think you should include the price on the criteria, as that’s the most important factor most times. Also, the state of the apartment is in should also be a deciding factor, though I guess that's a given. Good luck to all apartment hunters out there! Susan @ Ballarat Apartments

Thanks, Susan, just added price and a few more options as well, such as a field to take notes like whether the apartment is modernized, has enough outlets, etc. I also added a field for square footage as well. Thank you for the suggestions!
